What Caribou Need: Checklist of Recovery

Nearly two years have passed since government announced a recovery implementation plan for mountain caribou, and now the Mountain Caribou Project is updating its checklist of recovery actions or "what caribou need".

The original caribou recovery checklist is based on the scientific literature and the recommendations of biologists with region-specific expertise on mountain caribou, and folded in recommendations of people from across the social sectors who were working as part of local Recovery Implementation Groups for caribou.

We are now preparing a report card, our measure of the performance of government recovery efforts to date and how caribou are faring thus far with the recovery plan.
